Summer is ending!
So far this year at Nature’s Resort Campground, in lovely, historic Homosassa, it has been an exciting time!. After a winter of manatees and campfires, we have come out with a spring of much deserved fun. The campers and residents alike have enjoyed our activities and amenities.
This campground is where people come to relax and enjoy the river life. It’s home away from home for many of our loyal campers and winter visitors who come back year after year. We are gearing up for our snowbird friends to make their way down to stay the fall and winter months. All of the people here are friendly neighbors, driving their golf carts around saying hello to everyone they see. Even the dogs say hello! This is the place to come for camaraderie and relaxation.
Our newly formed activities team has come up with all kinds of fun things for our campers to do this quarter. The new team members are very creative and enjoy seeing everyone having fun. Not only does everyone in the park participate, we also give away prizes, awards, and keep photos of everyone having a good time. Maybe you’ve seen a few of our events on Facebook. If you aren’t following our page, you should be!
Some of the activities we put on this year include ladies luncheons, poker runs, boat rides to see fireworks, father kid fishing tournament, and so much more. The ladies of the park have made it a monthly event, going different places to eat lunch and enjoy each other’s company.
Our poker runs are so much fun and lucrative for the winner. We travel on golf carts to 5 spots to play a game, drink a shot, and get a playing card. At the end of the run, the person with the best 5 card hand wins the jackpot.
The fishing tournament, held right here in the lagoon, was a huge success. We had so many dads and their kids catching fish and enjoying themselves. The teams won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places with medals for everyone. They even took photos of each family for them to take home.
For those people who like to be on the river fishing or swimming, Nature’s Resort offers pontoon boats to rent for the day. Sometimes we, as a big group, take the boats out for a sunset cruise. This year we took them to see fireworks in July. We were all on the river together enjoying the show.
Our activities and amenities just keep growing and improving. We not only have fun, free events for our campers, but we also are creating a bigger and better experience. The park has started the process of building a new pool and splash pad for the kids. Its going to be big enough for everyone to enjoy some time playing in the water and soaking up the sun. We are also putting in pickleball courts for those people who like a little friendly competition! Of course we still have the waterslide for the kids, the playground, and basketball court.
The marina is a big hit every weekend. We have live entertainment Friday and Saturday night out on the tiki deck. From 5 to 9 pm we had various performers singing and playing their instruments for our enjoyment. All of the musicians who come to play are exciting to watch and sing along with while enjoying a beer from the bar. The marina has steak dinners available as well as a full dinner menu during that time, so dinner is close to home. Karaoke follows after 9pm and that’s where the real fun begins. Singing and dancing, some good, some bad, all entertaining.
If you haven’t made your reservations for this winter or upcoming spring, now is the time. Our park gets filled up during the upcoming months. Without a reservation in advance, there is a good chance you may not get in. We are a popular place to be!
